ABSTRACT

A new kind of lighting fixture designed and developed in collaboration with Gantri Inc. (New York) utilizing their digital product development & manufacturing platform consisting of a suite of technological, engineering, and manufacturing facilities and expertise. The project thoroughly studies the essence, constraints, strengths and boundaries of digital platform and addresses design considerations such as user experience, interface, form, aesthetics, technical specs, marketing, branding, etc. to develop a fully manufacturable fixture.

The Corona table lamp delivers an untroubled and unflustered reading and working experience owing to its warm and calm diffused light. The stylish design has an understated streamlined form that gently blends into the space and appears to gesture an outward movement due to its gradual upward radial taper. The lamp is named after the radial crown like shadow cast by the interaction of the diffused light and the base of the lamp.
