ABSTRACT

Cocktailware is an essential part of the hospitality industry and home entertaining. However, traditional cocktailware designs often require both hands to hold and use, limiting the convenience for customers with limited mobility or those who wish to multitask. The aim of this project was to create a line of ceramic cocktailware that offered a unique one-handed usability experience while maintaining an aesthetic appeal. The slip casting technique is a proven method for producing intricate ceramic shapes with excellent reproducibility and it was utilized to efficiently create these consistent and high-quality pieces. By combining innovative one-handed stackable design concepts with the patterns and inlays generated by the slip casting process, I tried to create a range of ceramic cocktailware that stood out in the market, offering enhanced convenience and usability while maintaining the charm and elegance associated with traditional cocktailware.
